Google Hangouts... for every Google ID / Gmail users.

Assalamu'alaikum and hi to all,

I am not much of social media user. My Facebook page is seldomly updated and my twitter posts are simply almost none in existence.

I was first  introduced to Hangouts, yet another one of hosts of Google free services for all to use in the middle of 2015 and the session was exhilarating and enjoyment to say the least. It was a direct connection through video stream with my wife and youngest son. The joy of their faces can clearly be seen, speaking to me and laughing together although we were in separate rooms of our own house. Yet, the service opened up possibilities to connect to loves ones, near or far through the use of the internet, streaming video and audio of familiar and loving faces on our computer screens.

However I was 're-introduced' with the Google Hangouts. This time it was a collaborative session between friends, trying to understand the technology and its use from the perspective of teaching and learning. It is yet another exhilarating moment where teacher and future students may teach and learn as well as interact with each other no matter where you are, as long there is a good connection to the internet.

Internet inadvertently, among the many mediacentric and information sharing functions already to many, is a strong tool for teaching and learning. It is hoped that many of us can benefit from its usefulness and make us all better persons for tomorrow.

With that, thank you for your visits and hope to see you again. Wassalam.

Windows 10 shuts down too slow...

Assalamu'alaikum and hi to all,

It has been too long a time since my entry to this blog. Too much things on my hand at this moment.

Well, this entry serves as a another Windows 10's guides for me and other Windows 10 users out there.

For those who have experience Windows 10 shuts down too slow (not like before), please follow the instruction below (as a reminder, I should not be held responsible for any damages caused by you following this instruction as it is provided as is. thread with caution). I have followed this instruction which I found on this site:

http://www.tenforums.com/performance-maintenance/45715-slow-shutdown-windows-10-a.html

It was written by a user named 'jds63'.

The instruction:

"Slow shutdowns are usually due to a process that does not close properly when PC is shutting down.
This service is important to be running, Microsoft Volume Shadow Copy.

Have you added any software or hardware since this occurred ? Try this first.

Open (Admin) Command Prompt and copy and paste the following command, and then press ENTER:

sfc /scannow

After the other completes in the same open command prompt, Copy and paste this and press enter

Dism /Online /Cleanup-Image /RestoreHealth

Reboot after both commands are complete."

Thank you for reading. Wassalam.

not a good feeling i am having right now...

assalamu'alaikum and hi to all,

i have not been updating this blog for quite some time now. well, today i am going to add one entry... albeit a said one...

i am not feeling good today. not having any physical illness of any kinds (i think) but i just feel that i am not treated well and not feeling loved. the feeling when you get left alone and has slightest care from no one whilst to do what is expected of you and to carry out those duties for the sake of responsibilities and not a stint of love and care can be found anywhere near.

a sorry and so-of 'broken heart' tone that i am carrying right now in me.

fortunately, i am changing to become a better person. i plan to become one, one who is capable to fulfill responsibilities laid in front him and able to carry out duties as i am supposed to. i want to change and become a reliable and better person for my family and me. i want to become constantly motivated and change for the better. may ALLAH grant me this wish.

having said that, although after much efforts to become a better person and trying my best to be a reliable person, i feel that i taken for granted for all the things i have done. i realized that the feeling of not loved and unappreciated linger quite strongly in me right now. i know i should not sought out appreciation so much from others yet, i am no prophet. i am not a prophet whom would lay down his lives for others, keeping steadfast to his duties and responsibilities and never seek anything in return. i would think we as normal people need some level of appreciation and love from others no matter how small it is, especially from those you would called and acknowledged as loved ones.

i need to do something to 'push away' such feelings in me right now. i need to concentrate in my work (which is piling up) and produce results, no matter how insignificant it is. any results is better than no results at all. any victories that would make want to celebrate, even it is a minute one. i need to pick myself up. and i need to do it now...

till next, may ALLAH bless u and your family always. all the best and i hope to see you soon. wassalam.

our kitchen sink 'almost' got clogged...

assalamu'alaikum and hi to all,

as the title suggests, our kitchen almost got clogged. i have removed the sink's hole cover (which is supposed any large waste materials to get into the sink hole) wanting to see if there are anything that could have caused the water draining so ever slowly. then i use the hand-suction pump to make sure that are nothing below inside the sink pipes that could have caused clogging.

right now i am boiling some water and will later the hot boiled water into the sink hole. let's see what happens after that then.

till next time, take care and may ALLAH and teaching of Prophet Muhammad (pbuh) bless you always.

wassalam.

My son is getting better. Alhamdulillah... - Edited: He is still having the fever...

Assalamu'alaikum and hi to all,

My son is havinv a fever. My wife and I are always afraid and feel pity for him whenever he is downed witb a fever. His tempreture would rise quite rapidly and we literally afraid of what the fever can bring to his health. After a visit to the doctor and two days of constant medication and monitoring, he is getting well again. Praise ALLAH the Almighty,  Alhamdulillah.

Till next time, take care and be good to those around you. Wassalam.

edited:

He is still having the fever. His temperature is at 37.7 degrees Celsius on the ear thermometer. I think we need to bring him to the clinic again. All this while, we have been giving him suspended paracetamol with no antibiotics included in the medication. Perhaps after today's visit to the clinic, he would be given an antibiotics on top of a new bottle of paracetamol.

My pray is for his recovery and his good health. May ALLAH grant me this wishes. Amin...

PDF reader. What I am using now...

Assalamu'alaikum and hi to all,

I have been using de facto application for pdf files for a very long time. Since I am now studying and depend heavily on reader that allows me to open pdf files, adobe acrobat reader had been an invaluable tool.

But recently, I needed to open quite a few pdf files at once to read and make comparison between texts and certain numbers on screen. Adobe Acrobat Reader opened the files from fast to a disappointingly slow. From my reading on internet, it seems that each time Adobe's own pdf reader starts, it loads quite a number of items onto the computer memory in which many of them, I will definitely not use.

So, as usual, I turn to Mr Google to search for me the next best thing. A good or even a better alternative to Adobe own proprietary software to read pdf files. From the readings (other users' point of views and discussions), it seems Foxit, a technology company that has been providing services related to pdf creations and securing it, comes up quite a few times. Foxit has its own pdf reader and the best of all, it is free.

Thus, I downloaded the software and installed it into my laptop. And truth to be told, the Foxit Reader is quite snappy and efficient. And as an extra free feature, the software also installed a pdf printer that will allow to print/make pdf files from any print job in my laptop.

It is just fantastic. I have been relying on PrimoPDF printer to print/make pdf file for a very long time. This adds another option for me, whether for work or others. I still keep my PrimoPDF printer since it will allow me print and append another one pdf to another, adjoining two or even more pdfs into one single pdf file, which I think is a neat and useful feature.

Well then, that is all for now. Do take care and be good to others around you. Wassalam.

It is 11.45pm. The night is still young. Let us finish our work...

Asssalamu'alaikum and hi toall,

It has been three days since the due where I must submit my final mini project for one of my elective class. Due to the problem of broken files, I was forced to re-do some of the work at the last minute and until now, the work is still in progress. The broken yet very important files were the core reference to my mini project which without them, the mini project would simply fail.

Now, I am re-doing the two important files. I have asked my lecturer for an submission extension and fortunate enough that he was kind and granted me a few more days to submit my work. I have learned my lesson. I need to keep multiple copies of essential files to avoid cases such as this.

It is not that late at night. I think I can finish huge part of the work tonight and maybe continue finishing it tomorrow morning. The work should be printed and handed by hand to my lecturer before 4 pm in the afternoon.

I wish myself good luck and I hope this would never happened again.

Till next time, take care and be good to those near you. Take care and wassalam.
